Two years on from the launch of The Barefoot Diaries, on Midsummers Day 2013. What a journey we’ve been on since that day. We’ve had the privilege of getting to know some amazing, inspiring people across the UK and beyond; we’ve found ourselves growing in deeper connection with the land that surrounds us here as we walk, stand, barefoot; we’ve had the unsettling challenge of being ‘resettled’ as our landlord has sold the home we live in – twice; we’ve felt busier and fuller than ever before and sometimes felt ourselves pushed to the very edge. We’ve gone on unexpected adventures, laughed, cried, shouted, whispered, loved, listened, heard.
And today, as we celebrate the festival of St Johns, our children jumping over the fire wearing strong and striking reds, yellows, oranges; we come once more to a place of surrender, of connection, of acknowledging the unknowing of our life’s journey, alongside the knowing of the great Holding that happens when we take time to make connection with Earth, each other, ourselves. We are so grateful to be on this journey into deeper dwelling; not always grateful for the hard and painful lessons, not always grateful for the unexpected challenges that are thrown our way, yet grateful for the Holding, for the Wisdom that is present as we stand barefoot, open and connected.
May the blessing of the fire, cleansing, warming, healing, be all of ours as we journey through summer and beyond
